Roofs go first under the oaks

A roof that never dries fully is a roof that streaks early. The algae responsible feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingle and needs damp to establish, and continuous canopy supplies exactly that. Uptown roofs commonly show streaking years before an equivalent roof on an open lot a mile away.
