Twenty minutes of preparation before the crew arrives puts the whole visit into the work instead of into moving cars and waiting for gate keys.
Most of what slows a wash down is access. Cars on the drive, a locked side gate, patio furniture against the wall, and a hose reel in the way all cost time that would otherwise go into the work. None of it is difficult, but it has to happen before the crew arrives rather than while they wait.
Move vehicles off the driveway and away from the elevations being washed, including the street side if we are working on the front. Unlock side gates, or leave a key and tell us where. Point out any outside tap you would rather we did not use, and any that does not work.
Tell us about anything fragile before we find it: a loose downspout, a cracked window pane, a light fitting that fills with water, a section of siding already coming away. Those are things we work around when we know about them and discover the hard way when we do not.
Close every window and check the ones that do not seal properly, since those are the ones that let water in. Bring in cushions, rugs, and anything fabric left outside. Move planters and garden ornaments back from the walls if they are easy to shift, and leave the ones that are not, because we cover those.
Take down wind chimes, hanging baskets, and anything on a hook that a spray will move. Cover or unplug outdoor electrics you are unsure about, and let us know where the exterior outlets are.
Keep pets indoors for the duration. Cleaning solutions are rinsed thoroughly, but a dog walking through a wet treated area before it is rinsed is worth avoiding entirely. The same goes for children playing on a drive we are partway through. We will tell you when an area is finished and safe to walk on.
If parking is tight, a space near the property helps more than you would think, because equipment and hose runs come off the truck.
We bring the machines, the chemistry, the hoses, and the protection for planting. What we usually need on site is water access and somewhere to park. If your property has no usable outside tap, say so when you book, because it changes what we bring.
Surfaces stay wet for a while and concrete can take several hours to dry evenly, so a slab that looks patchy an hour after we leave is usually just drying. A roof that has been soft washed keeps improving for a week or two as rain carries the dead growth off. If anything looks wrong once it has dried, call us and we will come back and look at it.
